DECEMBER 2009 NEWSLETTER
Tis the Season!!
So many things to do and think about this busy time of the year! We have been quite busy in the classroom enjoying this wonderful season. Tumpter, our magical elf, has arrived and is carefully watching the children throughout their day. We have started our Advent calendar and are in the midst of decorating our tree. The classroom is bustling with activities and the children are excited with every aspect and joy! We have been busy reading Christmas stories, reading and learning about Hannukah and Kwanzaa. We have listened to beautiful Christmas music in the morning as everyone arrives and also during lunch. We’ll be singing holiday songs and our favorite every year is “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, choreographed like a professional show!
The children will be exchanging names on Monday, December 7th for gift giving. Please keep this to a $10.00 item or less. Please have your child bring the gift anytime before Tuesday, December 14th so he/she can put it under our tree. Much of the fun at Christmastime is the anticipation!
We are also anxiously awaiting Christkindle! We need at least one volunteer that can give us a bit of time to help in this fun tradition for the children. We also need some donations to help Christkindle with his delivery.
The children, as always, enjoyed the Trunk or Treat. Thanks to all of you and for Maryanne’s mom for getting it together for them. The weather was absolutely beautiful and allowed us to gather on the playground and socialize a bit after all the festivities.
Thank you all for attending our Stone Soup Luncheon. It was great having Ms. Kim and her grandmother visit and share our meal with us. We sure did make a great tasting soup and every year it tastes a little bit different. Mr. Bob did enjoy the leftovers!
I had a wonderful surprise one afternoon when I went to the mailbox. There was a big envelope addressed to all of us and I quickly opened it and I was so excited to find pictures and letters from the Rogers family! Zachary and his family are doing fine and are enjoying their new baby, Liam. Zachary is doing fantastic in his new school and also quite involved in sports. Feel free to come and look at the pictures and read their letters.
