March 2010 Newsletter

I am so ready for some warm weather!!!   I don’t remember Georgia ever being so cold for so long!  It’s hard to believe the calendar says it will be spring on March 20th.   I do see our daffodils peeking through!

Thank you to all the moms who attended our Muffins for Mom.  The children all do very well and I am very proud of them.   Their days are filled with lots of activities!   Dads will have their turn on March 11th!

Our new student, Alie, has settled in nicely.   She is 4 years old and she is enjoying her time with us.   We welcome her and her parents, Kathy and Erik.  She has an older sister, Aria, and a younger brother, Clay.   If you have not had the opportunity, please be sure to introduce yourself.

Exciting news for Madelyn!   She will be a big sister again this coming September.  Sally and Gregg are expecting their 3rd child.  It would be nice to have a grandson, but, also nice to have another granddaughter if that happens to be the case.

Ben will soon be a big brother!  Gosia is ready and it won’t be much longer.  And of course, Valentino’s brother is not too far behind.  We are excited for both families and can’t wait for the new arrivals!

Easter is fast approaching and we need two volunteers to help the Easter Bunny hide candy eggs on our playground.  If you are able to help, please let me know.  I will also be asking parents to donate 12 candy filled plastic eggs.   More on this as the time approaches.

Contracts for the 2010-2011 school year are ready.   We hope you are considering staying with us if your child still is of age for our Primary class.   If you refer a family to us and they become confirmed for enrollment, we will credit you with $50.00 on a tuition payment.

The afternoon children have been studying the countries of North America.   They have been working with the map, coloring the map of the countries and their flags.   We have learned interesting things and even tried plantains.   After patiently waiting for them to ripen, we fried them and offered them at group.  We had some brave children and some who politely said “No thank you”.   They were able to enjoy them as part of snack.   We also enjoyed following the Winter Olympics since it was hosted by Canada.  The children brought pictures in of the athletes and they also did the Olympic flag.

We are looking forward to Donuts for Dad coming up.  We hope you can put some time aside from your busy work schedule and come join your child for an evening as they show you a day in the life at Montessori Pathways.   They are already talking about what they want to show.

We have a couple of months open for snack supply.  Anyone willing to take a month or share a month please let me know.
